Tie-Fast Knot Tyer Solves Fisherman's Nail Knot Problems

NAIL KNOT & NEEDLE NAIL KNOT:
The NAIL KNOT is the most affective way to tie any size monofilament to your line. It is a smooth and secure knot that easily passes in and out of the rod guides. With this knot, the harder you pull the better it "GRYPS" and holds.
Tie-Fast Knot Tyer
  1. Place tool in palm of either hand and grasp tightly with fingers. Place thumb on THUMB PAD. The TIP should be in perfect focus.
  2. Place leader between GUIDE through CHANNEL and TIPS/SLOT so that line extends approximately 6 inches beyond TIP. Use thumb to secure line over PAD.
  3. Pull short line downward into SLOT and wrap a tight coil of 4-5 turns. Wrap back around Tyer TIPS towards thumb using forefinger to hold turns in place.
  4. From the thumb side, thread short line back into CHANNEL under all turns and out through slotted TIPS
  5. Insert fly line under wraps and give "tag end" a light jerk. This causes knot to slide off Tyer onto fly line. Inspect and adjust wraps before securing knot completely. Trim off excess.

NAIL KNOT SPLICE & TAPERED LEADERS:
The "nail knot splice" is the perfect knot to join leaders. With this knot the tag end is held by 3 full wraps allowing you to drop to 6/1000 in transition without knot failure. Fewer transitions means better casting and stronger leaders with less knot failure. The nail knot splice is easier to tie, is more streamline, and is stronger than any other splice.Knot Tyer Diagram

  2. Overlap leaders 6-8 inches. Place lines between GUIDE through CHANNEL and TIPS/SLOT so that tag end extends approximately 4 inches beyond TIPS. Use thumb to secure lines over PAD.
  3. Pull short line downward into SLOT and wrap a tight coil of 3 turns. Wrap back around Tyer TIPS towards thumb using forefinger to hold turns in place.
  4. From thumb side, thread short line back into CHANNEL under all turns and out through slotted TIPS and give a light jerk. This causes knot to slide off Tyer onto line. Pull "tag end" until knot is snug (not tight) on line.
  5. Remove leaders from the tool and place them back in the tool in the exact opposite configuration. Repeat steps 3 & 4.
  6. Slide the two knots together by slowly pulling on both leaders in opposite directions. Inspect and adjust wraps before securing knot completely. Trim off excess.
